Presenting the Makita XVP01ZB 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Sub-Compact Brushless Cordless 3” Polisher / 2” Sander (tool only), a compact and versatile solution for intricate polishing or sanding tasks. This tool features a dual-speed selector that offers 0-2,800 RPM in polish mode and 0-9,500 RPM in sanding mode. A variable speed trigger with power lock-on facilitates greater user convenience, and the brushless motor promotes cooler and more efficient operation for extended tool performance.

The XVP01ZB is part of Makita’s expanding 18V LXT System, the world’s largest cordless tool system powered by 18V lithium-ion slide-style batteries. These batteries provide the fastest charge times in their categories, ensuring more time working and less time charging.

Makita’s innovative Star Protection Computer Controls™ enhance the performance and longevity of both tool and battery. This technology enables real-time data exchange between the tool and battery to safeguard against overloading, over-discharging, and overheating. For extra versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita® 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Batteries displaying the star symbol, indicating Star Protection inside.

Embodying a compact design ideal for precision detail polishing or sanding, the XVP01ZB is just 5” in body length, ensuring increased comfort during use. It features Anti-restart protection, engineered to prevent accidental motor startup, and an ergonomically designed rubberized T-handle for comfort and control. The side handle is cleverly angled to prevent unwanted contact and allows for two-hand control.

Other features include a rubberized gear housing for protecting delicate surfaces and wire mesh air vent intake covers to stop pad fibers from entering the motor. It comes equipped with a 3” polishing backing plate and a 2” sanding backing plate for increased versatility, a lock-off power switch, and a spindle lock button for easy wheel changes. The Extreme Protection Technology (XPT™) improves dust and water resistance for operation in harsh conditions.

Although the tool does not come with a battery, it is compatible with the 18V Compact LXT® Lithium-Ion 2.0Ah battery BL1820B that features an integrated L.E.D. battery charge level indicator. The Rapid Optimum Charger, sold separately, communicates with the battery’s built-in chip throughout the charging process to optimize battery life by actively controlling current, voltage, and temperature.
