The Makita XPK02Z 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 3-1/4” Planer, AWS Capable, Tool Only is designed to meet the needs of door and window installers, finish carpenters, deck installers, remodelers, and general contractors who require a brushless cordless planer. With a powerful 12,000 RPM, it enables fast stock removal and offers versatility for a wide range of applications.

The Makita XPK02Z 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 3-1/4” Planer, AWS Capable, Tool Only can effortlessly plane up to 3-1/4” wide and 1/8” deep in a single pass, making it highly efficient. The Makita-built brushless motor eliminates carbon brushes, ensuring cooler and more efficient motor operation for extended tool life. Its 2-blade cutter head with double-edge carbide blades guarantees exceptional performance and a smooth finish.

For ease of use and enhanced safety, the planer features a spring-loaded stand that elevates the base, protecting the blades and workpiece. The click-depth adjustment knob comes with an easy-to-read scale, allowing precise depth adjustment from 0” to 7/64”. The precision-machined aluminum base ensures increased planning accuracy, and the tool offers three chamfering groove options for added convenience.

Chip ejection can be directed to either side of the tool, providing flexibility and convenience during operation. The planer is compatible with Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Batteries with the star symbol, indicating Star Protection technology. For convenience and efficiency, the Rapid Optimum Charger (sold separately) communicates with the battery’s built-in chip to optimize the charging process, actively controlling current, voltage, and temperature.
